Whew, where to start? I learned so many intricate and incredible facets about the function, fears, and fascination that we have with American zombies. We traced their inspirations, modern inception in Romero's films, and interpreted their criticisms on human society, capitalism, and so much more. As a creative writer I have loved every moment of watching films, reading books, and digging into graphic novels. As an academic the care and depth of our seminars, incorporation of audio visuals, and conversations throughout the week have been incredible, striking a perfect balance between accessible and graduate level academic quality. I felt like my voice and every student in the course mattered and our observations were welcomed to as we expressed, questioned, and offered our insights into each week's lecture and lens on zombies. There's something for both the layman and the expert in this class, as well as those in between. Pop culture has never been so enthralling!
